Publicist Applications

Position Description

Poetry Northwest is seeking a publicist to support the editorial team. Responsibilities include:

  • Use Canva to create social media graphics for new print issues, upcoming events, calls for submissions, poems/reviews published online, prize nominations, new staff members, contributor updates, and other announcements.
  • Use Later and in-platform schedulers to plan timely posts on Instagram, Facebook, and X.
  • Handle communication with community via social media comments and direct messages.

Qualifications

This remote position requires internet access and a commitment of no more than five hours per week. Required skills include reliability, strong communication, and an ability to work independently. The publicist collaborates directly with senior editors and is a vital part of our team.

How to Apply

Submit the form, resume, and a brief letter of interest on Submittable.

Compensation

Like most of our staff, this is a volunteer position: we do this work for the love of it, not the grant money. However, this role does come with a small annual honorarium that we are glad to be able to provide.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
